Most Chinese weddings include Chinese wedding favors which are given to guests upon arrival or departure from the wedding banquet. Most Chinese wedding favors include business card-sized or wallet-sized wedding photos of the bride and groom.

At the conclusion of a Chinese wedding, the bride and groom greet each guest before they depart. The bride typically holds a basket brimming with hard candies or chocolates that guests are given as they leave. At some weddings, the bride may also give out red-colored eggs.

Other wedding favors may include blocks of rice wrapped in red paper stamped with the double happiness character and Western-style favors including photo frames and business card holders.

Before the wedding, elaborate boxes of assorted cookies and candies or miniature cakes or a large round cake stamped with a large double happiness character are sent to family and friends to announce the couple's engagement.
