壶（壺）（hú）

 
字形：
“壶”的古体取自于上古时代的酒壶，上部的“大”字表示壶盖，中间是葫芦形的壶腹，下部是壶的圈足，整体上就是一个酒壶的样子。
The pictogram of the character "壶" took its form from the wine stoups used in ancient times. The top part was "大", representing the lid; the middle part was the calabash-like body; and the bottom part was like the stand in the shape of a ring. So, the whole character looked like a stoup.
