Foreigners often make some strange mistakes in Chinese when they study the most difficult language--- ---Chinese. We try to analyze typical sentences to correct these errors.

         Zuótiān wǒ jiànmiàn wǒ pénɡyou le.
False: 昨天我见面我朋友了。
         Zuótiān wǒ ɡēn （hé、tónɡ） wǒ pénɡyou jiànmiàn le.
True: 昨天我跟（和、同）我朋友见面了。

“见面”后边不能带对象宾语，为了把受影响的对象表示出来，须凭借介词“跟”（和、同）组成介宾词组“跟我的朋友”，放在“见面”的前边，做状语。
见面 never takes objects. In order to present the other side of the mutual activity, one has to use the preposition 跟（or 和,同）to make up the prepositional phrase 跟我的朋友 and put it before 见面 as the adverbial adjunct.
