Gùrén jù jī shǔ, yāo wǒ zhì tiánjiā.
故人具鸡黍，邀我至田家。
Lǜshù cūn biān hé, qīngshān guō wài xiá.
绿树村边合，青山郭外斜。
Kāi xuān miàn chǎngpǔ, bǎ jiǔ huà sāngmá.
开轩面场圃，把酒话桑麻。
Dàidào Chóngyángrì, hái lái jiù júhuā.
待到重阳日，还来就菊花。


Evaluation

An old friend prepared a feast, and invited me to go visit his home in the village. The village there was surrounded by green trees and outside the city wall the undulating green hills were unbroken. Through the open window, we could see the mill and vegetable garden. While drinking wine, we talked about farming things. Wait until September 9, when the Double Ninth Festival was arriving, I would surely come here again and enjoy the chrysanthemums.
