是 shì, means is.
In Chinese 是 shì is a copula that is used to explain what the things are. It’s used in this structure like “a noun+a noun”.
For example, 人民币兑美元是 7: 1。Rénmínbì duì měiyuán shì 7:1. RMB to the dollar is 7: 1.; 我是学生。Wǒshì xuésheng. I am a student; 这本书是我的。Zhè běnshū shì wǒde. This book is mine.

4. 美元又跌了。 Měiyuán yòu diē le.
