Dalian University of Technology (DUT)（大连理工大学：Dàlián Lǐɡōnɡ Dàxué） is one of the key universities under the direct jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education in China. Founded as a school of engineering half a century ago and renown for its well-established academic style, “Be Diligent, Rigorous, Practical-Minded and Creative,”（勤奋 严谨 求实 创新：Qínfèn  Yánjǐn  Qiúshí  Chuànɡxīn） DUT has now developed into a multiple-disciplinary university of science and technology, covering natural sciences, economics, sciences of management, social sciences and applied liberal arts, with the science and engineering sectors remaining its major fields of devotion.

DUT has a very strong teaching faculty, comprising a number of erudite experts and professors well-known throughout the nation and the world, among whom 13 are Academicians of the Chinese Academies of Sciences and Engineering respectively, more than 340 professors and 730 associate professors. This university is among the 33 in China to have an attached graduate school, with nearly 6,000 of the school’s total enrollment of more than 23,000 students working toward their master’s or doctor’s degree.
