Most of the taxi drivers are willing to talk to their passengers. Maybe it's too boring while driving silnce. They ask many about the passengers not because they're curious about the privacy. Actually they're friendly and talkative. On the other side, talking to them is a good way to improve your Chinese, listening and speaking. Here're some common questions they may ask:

1. How long have you been in Beijing?

Nǐ lái Běijīnɡ duōjiǔ le?

Duōjiǔ means how long.

2. What do you do?

Nǐ zuò shénme ɡōnɡzuò?

The reply is "wǒ shì + __job___".

Wǒ shì Yīnɡyǔ lǎoshī。(I'm a English teacher.)

3. Where do you live?

Nǐ zhù zài nǎli ?

Zhù in Chinese means to live in a place, like apartment, house, hotel, etc.

Xiànzài wǒ zhù zài bīnɡuǎn li. (Now I stay in the hotel.)

4. Do you have friends in Beijing?

Zài Běijīnɡ yǒu pénɡyou mɑ?

And the reply is yǒu(yes, I have) or méiyǒu(no, I haven't).

5. What do you think of Beijing?

Nǐ jué de Běijīnɡ zěnmeyànɡ?

Well, people living in Beijing will be very proud and happy if you compliment Beijing.

Wǒ juéde Běijīnɡ piàoliɑnɡ jíle。(I think Beijing is so beautiful.)
