An old friend prepared a feast, and invited me to go visit his home in the village. The village there was surrounded by green trees and outside the city wall the undulating green hills were unbroken. Through the open window, we could see the mill and vegetable garden. While drinking wine, we talked about farming things. Wait until September 9, when the Double Ninth Festival was arriving, I would surely come here again and enjoy the chrysanthemums.
This poem writes the tranquility and happiness of the farmer's life, expressing the poet's love for and sentimental attachment to this kind of life.
