Hóngdòu shēng nánguó,
红豆生南国，
chūn lái fā jǐ zhī ？
春来发几枝？
Yuàn jūn duō cǎixié,
愿君多采撷，
Cǐ wù zuì xiāngsī.
此物最相思。

Evaluation

“红豆”又名“相思子”，是一种植物，结出来的果实颜色鲜红，可用来作装饰。“南国”就是指中国的南方。“采撷”是“采摘”的意思。
“红豆(Hóngdòu)", red berries, has another name: "seed of memories". It is a plant which produces red seeds which can be used for decoration. "南国(Nánguó)", South Country, refers to the south of China. "采撷(cǎixié)" means to harvest. 

整首诗的意思是：在你居住的遥远南方，生长着美丽的红豆。春天又一次到来，不知道它们发了多少新枝？唯愿你能多多地将它们采下，红豆最能寄托朋友之间的相思。
The whole poem means: Beautiful red berries grow in the far away south, where you live right now. Spring comes again. I don't know how many new branches they have. I only hope you can gather them. These red berries are symbols of friendly love.

这首诗通过描写红豆，表达了诗人对远方朋友的思念之情，也体现了诗人对友情的珍重。
Through the description of these red berries, the poet expresses his fond thoughts of his friends far away and how much he treasures their friendship.
