Thought in the Cold

Following is a poem written by Li Shangyin, a famous poet of the Tang Dynasty(618-907).

"You leave. The river is high at my door.
Cicadas are mute on dew-laden branches.
This is a moment when thoughts are deep.
I stand alone for a long while.
……The North Star is nearer to me now than spring is,
And couriers from your southland never arrive ——
I am frequently occupied by dreams of the far horizon.
I doubt that there is new knowledge"
