If I Could Give up

by: Xiangyang

tr: Rhapsodia

Rúɡuǒ nénɡɡòu fànɡqì,qǐnɡ rànɡwǒ fànɡqì

Xiànɡ báiyún fànɡqì tiānkōnɡ,xiànɡ niǎo fànɡqì fēixiánɡ

Xiànɡ yìtiáo bēnténɡ bùxīde hé,fànɡqì liúxiànɡ

If I could give up, please let me do

As clouds give up the sky, birds the fly

As an ever-running river gives up its direction of flow

Xiànɡ yìkēshù,fànɡqì shēnzhā dàdìde ɡēnxū

Xiànɡ yìwěiyú fànɡqì liúlànɡ,fànɡqì shuǐ

Xiànɡ niúyánɡ fànɡqì cǎo,xiànɡ cháilánɡ hǔbào

Fànɡqì tānlánde wèi

As a tree gives up deeply grounded roots

As a fish gives up wandering, and the water

As cows and sheep give up grass, as beasts of prey

Give up their voracious stomachs

Fànɡqì,bùxūyào tàiduōde lǐyóu

Zhènɡrú máofà duì pínánɡde yīfù

Zhènɡrú yìzhīmǎyǐ,duì xìxiǎo xìnɡfúde jiānshǒu

Few reasons does giving-up needs

Just as simple as hairs attach to their follicles

As an ant holds fast to its tiny happiness

Qǐnɡ rànɡwǒ fànɡqì,rúɡuǒ nénɡɡòu fànɡqì

Xiànɡ yípiànluòyè,fànɡqì fānɡxiànɡ hé jìjié

Jiānɡ zìjǐ jiāoɡěi fēnɡ,zài yízhèn yòu yízhèn piāolínɡ zhīhòu

Jiānɡ fǔlànde shēnqū,jiāoɡěi nítǔ

Please let me give up, if I could

Like a fallen leaf resigns from direction and season

Leaving itself to the wind, after fading and drifting in gusts

Puts its decayed body into the hands of soil
