出洋相 (Chū yángxiàng) make an exhibition of oneself

Usage:

“出洋相”指做事不合常规，让人感到滑稽可笑。可以说“出了个（大）洋相”。
“出洋相”means doing something which is out of normal, which seems ridiculous. We can say “出了个（大）洋相”.

Sentences:

1、Nǐ bù dǒng jiù bié luàn shuō, shěngde zài dàjiā miànqián chū yángxiàng.
你不懂就别乱说，省得在大家面前出洋相。
You can say nothing as you do not know about it. Otherwise you just make a fool of yourself.

2、Jīntiān Xiǎo Qiáng hài wǒ zài dàjiā miànqián chū le gè dà yángxiàng.
今天小强害我在大家面前出了个大洋相。
Today Xiao Qiang let me make an exhibition of myself.
