压岁钱 (yā suì qián) New Year’s money given to children

Usage:

在中国过春节时晚辈给长辈拜年，长辈要给一些钱，相传压岁钱可以压住邪祟，晚辈得到压岁钱就可以平平安安度过一年。
In China during Spring Festival, children receive money called “压岁钱” after they wish their elders happy new year. Tradition has it that “压岁钱” money will suppress evil spirits, allowing the younger generation to spend their year in peace and safety.

Sentences:

1、每年孩子们都期待着长辈们给的压岁钱。
Měinián háizimen dōu qīdài zhe zhǎngbèi men gěi de yāsuìqián.
Every year, children await the New Year’s money they receive from elders.

2、 Chūnjiē zhī hòu ，yǒu de háizi yòng yāsuìqián mǎi zìjǐ xǐhuan de dōngxī ，yǒu de bǎqián cúnqǐlái.
