兜风 (dōufēng)  go for a drive

Usage:

“兜风”的本义是指船帆或者车篷挡住风，引申为骑马、坐车或者乘船在外面游逛。
The original meaning of “兜风” is to catch the wind by sails or hoods. It extendedly means to drive, to ride or take a boat around for fun.

Sentences:

1、Wǒ gāng mǎi le xīn chē, zhè gè zhòumò yìqǐ qù dōufēng zěnmeyàng?
我刚买了新车，这个周末一起去兜风怎么样？
I have just got my new motor vehicle. Would you like to take a spin with me this weekend?

2、Nà shíhou, tāmen xiàwǔ jīngcháng zài fùjìn xiāngxià qí mǎ dōufēng.
那时候，他们下午经常在附近乡下骑马兜风。
In that period, they often rode around the nearby countryside in the afternoon.
