"Golden Week"
Most people in China enjoy the seven-day national holiday. The seven-day holiday from work is also called "Golden Week". For different people "Golden Week" has different meanings.

But for most people it's a time to relax and escape the pressures of work and studies.

A great many people choose to travel outside of their home cities during the holiday. For those with cars, driving with friends and family is a preferred method of transportation. Those who work outside of cities usually choose to stay at home and relax, or they go back to their homes to enjoy family reunions. Many students like to find part time jobs during these days, such as working as sellers in markets. Others like to recharge for the needs of work or studies. They stay at home or go to bookstores to read books. Others go to training classes. Foreigners who come to China to work and live use Golden week as an opportunity to travel as well.
