Eel Steamed with Codonopsis Pilosula

Ingredients:Eel: 1,000 grams; codonopsis pilosula: 10 grams; Chinese angelica: 5 grams; cooked ham: 150 grams; salt; Shaoxing rice wine; pepper; ginger; Chinese onion; monosodium glutamate; and chicken broth: 500 grams.

Recipe:Clean and slice the codonopsis pilosula and the Chinese angelica; remove the viscera from the eels, clean them, scald them with hot water in a short time, scrape their mucus, cut off their heads and tails, and then chop the remaining codonopsis into 6cm slices; chop the ham into big pieces; clean and slice the ginger and the Chinese onion. Pour some clean water into the wok, add half of the ginger, the Chinese onion and Shaoxing rice wine to boil them, put the eels in to burn them for a short while and take them to a bowl, add ham and codonopsis pilosula and then the Chinese onion, ginger, Shaoxing rice wine, pepper, salt and the chicken broth, seal the opening with tissue paper, steam the bowl in the bamboo steamer for about one hour, then pick up the ginger and the Chinese onion and add the monosodium glutamate to season it.
